Week of September 4 - 8, 2017

This week will be devoted to the final review of The Outsiders. Students will receive handouts containing what they will need to know for the test for Friday, September 8th, and the format for the test will be explained. There will be no vocabulary unit, this week, due to no school on Monday, September 4th. (Labor Day).

Monday: No Classes (Labor Day)

Tuesday: We will complete reviewing the list of 32 review questions, in addition to reviewing the characters, their roles in the story and the relationships of the major characters. The themes will be discussed, as well as, the literary term of "foreshadowing". Students will write questions they believe will be good questions if they were to create the test. Some of the students' questions may actually be used for the test.

Wednesday:  Students will be put into groups to quiz and help each other prepare for the test on Friday.

Thursday:  Any last-minute questions will be discussed. The format for the test will be reviewed so students are comfortable and familiar with the sections, and the types of questions which might be asked on the test.

Friday:    The Outsiders test is administered.

**The Outsiders test will be the first major grade of the trimester. Tests are 50% of the total grade and will have a significant effect on the student's average. Therefore, I encourage ALL STUDENTS to prepare and study for this test, while putting in the necessary amount of effort in order to accomplish their goal of a respectable grade.
